In this sample, those
overtly disinterested in climate change tended to be slightly
younger, C1C2 relatively high earners; although students also tended to fall into this
category. They had an exclusively present focus, with no evidence of a sense of personal
responsibility for the environment and very low knowledge and interest in green issues
and behaviour. The environment was seen as relatively unimportant compared to other
issues in their lives, with most currently focused on living for the moment. The
environment and climate change was not always wholly disregarded but was so low
priority that expressions of concern appeared lip service only.
Obviously, we have been trying to build up the house buying little things
as you do
and over the last few
years we have been wanting to do up the garden...we had it gutted about 14 years ago
