Clearly, with price being
such an issue, the purchase of products that are more
expensive than those bought currently would be most unlikely, such as: food and
cleaning products (as above); hybrid/electric car; more water/energy efficient white
goods (until their own are broken and need to be replaced).
They also claimed that
reducing car trips would be difficult, but in view of the fact they
were low users overall , this is possibly of little real significance.
I use the car far too much. It does prey on my conscience a bit because
its a petrol car, and not only is it
expensive to run but its also not particularly environmentally friendly. And whilst it does concern
me vaguely,
it doesnt concern me enough to drive it less because Id get too isolated and lonely.
